4 Week Restorative Yoga Practice PROCEEDS TO FARA

We are now taking limited bookings (thelimeshed.com.au) for this offering so if you have ever felt the need to slow down, find time to literally breathe and you are leaning more towards the ‘yin’ side of things meaning a softer, more receptive and relaxing way of being, then Safe to Stretch is for you!

WHAT IS RESTORATIVE YOGA?

The focus of Restorative Yoga can be described as alert relaxation. Restorative Yoga is healing in nature and works to release mind-body tension through passive stretching – making it safe to stretch. Restorative Yoga is less about doing and more about ‘undoing’. Restorative poses allow the body, mind and whole self a chance to experience deep states of rest and renewal.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

In Restorative Yoga the stretches are passive and 100% supported with props. The poses are usually held for longer, some between 2-5 minutes. By staying in the pose for an extended period of time, restorative yoga provides the muscles with a deep stretch giving us the chance to experience “being-ness,” or a quality of awareness not related to “doing” or external circumstances. It helps us release ever-deeper layers of tension.

WHO IS THE TEACHER?

The Lime Shed is excited to host Yogi Jan Ungerer who trained under the loving guidance of Kate Pell. “I found Yoga or maybe I should say Yoga found me in my late 20’s after giving birth to two beautiful children. Having suffered a hereditary spine condition, yoga was the one thing I could rely on that helped me through †he pain. It has never ceased to amaze me how even now, 30 years on, as my body ages with time that even the smallest of Yoga practices can bring about such a positive shift to my entire state of being.” Jan Ungerer
