7 Ways to enjoy Dulguigan

Updated: Jun 6, 2019

1.Take a beautiful country drive through the spectacular Northern Rivers and find your own special picnic spot to enjoy TheLimeShed's Gentlemen's Whiskey Marmalade atop creamy Cheeses Loves You cheese and some artisan bread. Of course if you're not the DIY type, talk to Blue Ginger Picnics and they will do it all for you!

2. Blow your mind at the Tweed Regional Art Gallery and Margaret Olley Art Centre. If you are lucky enough to visit in May this year make sure you make it to the Murwillumbah Arts Trail.

3. Wake up in the early hours and climb Mt Warning. You're definitely going to want a local craft beer when your finished.

4. Stock up your pantry from the amazing array of locally grown and crafted produce. Literally fresh from the farm. TheLimeShed's finger lime cordial is amazing and no cocktail bar should be without it. Try it out in a gimlet; equal parts gin and cordial with a pretty garnish to mark the occasion.

5. Music and birdsong. The region is famous for its festivals hosting everything from Bluesfest to Splendor in the Grass, Tyalgum Classical Music to Falls festival. City folk may even just enjoy reconnecting with nature listening to birdsong and crickets. For the brave at heart try a Breakfast Martini made with TheLimeSheds Whiskey Marmalade while you try to decipher the cacophony of waking birds. Of course its just as appropriate to drink the cocktail in the evening under the gleaming Milky Way listening to the wildlife settle.

6. Schedule as many meals as possible to taste test the culinary delights presented by local chefs and artisans. The region is rapidly developing its own foodie trail and promises not to disappoint. Craft Breweries, Distilleries (who doesn't love Husk's Ink Gin), Cheese makers the list goes on and on so plan ahead. Whether you manage a day trip or longer we know you will want to return.

7. Take advantage of the amazing agritourism opportunities. We hadn't heard the word agritourism before moving to Dulguigan and now we cannot imagine a world without it. Try out the Tweed River Cruise operated by Mt Warning Tours to get your bearings and take it from there.
